Road closure at Umgeni interchange

Motorists are warned to be extra vigilant in the vicinity of the Umgeni interchange where a southbound carriageway on the N2 has been closed.

MOTORISTS are reminded of the municipality’s planned closure of the left hand lane of the N2 Southbound carriageway in the vicinity of the Umgeni Interchange from 7 – 12 October. The lane will be closed to traffic from 9am to 3pm from Monday to Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday.

The closure of the road has become necessary due to heavy cranes and concrete trucks working in the adjacent lane which may pose a safety hazard for passing vehicles and construction personnel working on the interchange.

Flagmen and temporary signage is in place along the closed lane to caution passing motorists to be alert when driving pass the roadworks.

The city urges motorists to be cautious when travelling in the vicinity and to exercise due patience and courtesy to other drivers.
