Swimming for CHOC

Ntobeko Zama is appealing to the public to support her swim at this year's Midmar Mile.

CAN you imagine working for an organisation and being so passionate about its cause, that you’re willing to swim the Midmar Mile and raise funds for it?

Well that’s exactly what Ntobeko Zama is doing. Ntobeko is the Programme Coordinator for CHOC KZN and one of her portfolios is awareness and advocacy for children with cancer.

“I am raising funds for children and teens that have been diagnosed with cancer. Every year I do this little fundraiser not because I am a good swimmer or love swimming, I am not a good swimmer, so how could I possibly enjoy 1.7km in a dam! I do the Midmar Mile each year because working at CHOC I see children and teens suffer on a daily basis and I also see the great impact CHOC has during their journey. So I tell myself, what’s a little drowning and some water in my stomach for a good cause! Please help me make an impact!” she said.
