Join sewing classes

The sewing centre at St John's Church has been in existence since 1976.

CLASSES at St John’s Sewing Centre, St John The Divine Church, 205 Clark Road, Glenwood, will resume on the first Thursday of February from 2pm to 4pm, and will run until the last Thursday in November.

This sewing centre has been in existence since 1976 when Bridgid Oppenheimer suggested starting Centres of Concern in churches. Most churches had these centres, and St John’s started then with sewing, cookery classes and literacy.

Cost is R100 for the year. Sewing machines and basic patterns are provided, but students need to take their own material, scissors, pins and cotton.
