Care association celebrates 70 years

A highlight of the evening was the re-branding of the home and the launch of the new logo.

THE KZN Care Association (KZNCA), formerly known as Natal Settlers Memorial Homes, hosted a cocktail evening at KZNSA on Friday night to celebrate its 70th anniversary.

The association offers accommodation and holistic care services to 350 mostly needy, elderly people with age-related conditions and 40 abandoned children severely affected with cerebral palsy.

At the cocktail event, guests were treated to music and enjoyed a meet and greet, which was followed by speeches where the history of the association was outlined, along with the journey over the past 70 years.

Guest speaker at the event was deputy mayor Councillor Belinda Scott, who in her speech mentioned the importance of organisations that care for the community as well as the need for social work and social intervention. She also spoke of how she plans to help the community, adding that one of these interventions would be the reopening of the drug testing centre in Umbilo.

A highlight of the evening was the re-branding of the home and the launch of the new logo.
