Business fair boosts emerging businesses

The Fair was held between 25 and 29 September at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre and Durban Exhibition Centre.

SMALL business owners enjoyed a welcome boost in sales during the 21st Durban Business Fair last week where international trade deals were sealed.

The Fair was held between 25 and 29 September at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre and Durban Exhibition Centre.

The street market, set-up in Walnut Road had 14 food vendors, who were kept busy across all three days and recorded sales of more than R350 000.

Not only was the value of the Fair tallied in a boost to business coffers, the skills transfer and knowledge-sharing during masterclasses created a stimulating environment for future business leaders to be inspired.

In his closing remarks, Chairperson of the Economic Development and Planning Committee Councillor Sipho Kaunda said: “The business fair was a huge success based on the number of people who attended and supported local businesses. It was a success because of the many deals that were sealed both locally and internationally.”
