Audition for Durban Passion Play

All actors are amateurs who receive no payment for their performance.

THE Durban Catholic Players Guild is calling for actors to audition for the 15th production of the Durban Passion Play at the Playhouse during Easter in 2020.

The play, set in Jerusalem, portrays the last week of the life of Jesus. This play has been staged in Durban every five years since 1952. All actors are amateurs who receive no payment for their performance. The play is open to all denominations and all ages.

Auditions will be held at Holy Family College, Glenmore, on Saturday, 24 August at 11am to 2pm for female leads and 2pm to 5pm for male leads, on Sunday, 25 August from 11.30am to 5pm for crowds and people of Jerusalem, on Saturday, 31 August from 1.30pm to 3pm for apostles and Sanhedrin, from 3pm to 5pm for dancers and soldiers (Herod’s dancers, Roman army) and on Sunday, 1 September 2019 for call backs.
