A MAN was arrested for drinking and driving, reckless and negligence driving as well as hijacking, at a roadblock on 8 August.
According to Lt Col Thulani Zwane from provincial SAPS, police officers were conducting a roadblock along South Coast Road when the motorist attempted to evade police. While attempting to flee from the roadblock, he collided with another vehicle and was trapped in the vehicle.

“Police officers arrested the driver who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured. Police discovered that the vehicle had been hijacked in Umbilo earlier in the day,” he said.
The driver was arrested and charged.
