UKZN: Mandela day crowdfunding bursaries for change

"We encourage everyone to get involved and support this initiative."

THE University of KwaZulu-Natal Foundation is launching its second annual Mandela Day Bursaries for Change campaign. In its first year, the campaign raised R364000 which was used to provide partial bursaries for ten financially and academically deserving students in the missing middle. The missing middle refers to students who don’t qualify for national bursaries and who can’t afford to pay for fees using family resources.

“The Nelson Mandela Foundation is proud to support the UKZN Bursaries for Change initiative. This Mandela Day campaign is key in providing opportunities to students and youth who have the ambition to make a change in their own lives and those of their families. We encourage everyone to get involved and support this initiative,” said: Yase Godlo – Director Mandela Day and Special Projects.
