Rusty makes good progress

Limitless IV Therapy and Wellness offered Rusty Dewinnaar IV treatments in March, and since then, he has grown from strength to strength.

THERE has been a remarkable improvement in health for much-loved Morningside beggar, Rusty Dewinnaar, who suffers from Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), since he started on IV treatements offered to him in March this year by Limitless IV Therapy and Wellness, based in Sandile Thusi Road.

The owners of the company offered Rusty IV treatments to help manage his pain and to boost his immunity.

Since first receiving the treatments, Rusty’s health and improved greatly.

Speaking to Berea Mail last week while receiving another IV to manage his pain, Rusty said he had been admitted to hospital at the end of March for two weeks after his lung collapsed, however, he continued the IV treatments after being discharged from hospital.

“On 17 April I started the oncology infusion, Onco Support, which is a powder I dissolve in my tea every day. I have also started having my drips once a week instead of monthly, and I have improved so much,” he said.

According to owner of Limitless, Fatima Olgar, Rusty’s doctor is busy with further treatement to help improve his condition following his amazing test results received recently.

“Rusty went for his tests at Albert Luthuli and the doctors couldn’t believe the results! He has gone from stage 3 to stage 2, and has gained 7kg in weight. Our doctor will be looking at his bloods to see how the IVs are working for Rusty, so he can see how he can help others with cancer,” she said.

Rusty said his blood results previously showed a high white blood count, but now his red blood cell count was higher than the white, which was a great improvement.

“Over the years I have lost weight and have never been able to put it back on. It is great to have gained 7kg. I started looking like I was 80 and not 62, my eyes were sunk in and I looked so sick. Now I look better, I feel great and have more energy. With bone marrow cancer, the pain is mainly in my hips and I have battled to walk and have had to use a stick, but with the pain IVs the pain has gone away. I don’t battle to walk anymore and I hardly use the stick,” he said, adding that he was so grateful for the treatment which has made a huge difference in his life.

He said Sister Cebile Masuku, who has administered his IVs and taken care of him at Limitless, had such a wonderful demeanor and attitude and spiritually he knew he was in the right place.

“I am not scared to die, but I am still here for a reason. God looks at the heart and blesses accordingly, and it is important to be Him to other people. I am being given time to help others, while these wonderful people help me,” he said.
