DURBAN BC

THE Durban Bowling Club saluted the elderly by hosting a bowling tournament on Wednesday, 1 May in aid of Tafta.

The event was supported not only by the club’s bowlers but by visitors and visiting members of a Harley Davidson Riders Club.

The intention was for all bowlers and visitors to donate any new or used clothes, shoes, linen, blankets, towels, duvets and covers and toiletries used in the care of the elderly.

At the same fundraising undertaking, Port Natal Nomads, who are a non-profit organisation and whose members play bowls to accumulate funds for donations to charity, chose to donate R15 000 to Tafta. Over the years Nomads have donated many items such as wheelchairs, food, and electrical goods and are always supportive of people in need.
