SERVICE delivery has come to a halt in the city, with services departments such as Electricity, Water, Sanitation, Parks and DSW on strike due to the irregular employment and salary increases of Mkhontho weSizwe (MK) veterans.
Workers are demanding that they also be given a Grade 10 salary increase which MK veterans were given, and are causing havoc in the city centre, and protesting outside the Durban City Hall.
