EDITOR – I have never previously got actively involved in politics, as I always thought it was sufficient for me to show up on voting day and cast my vote.
But following the news over the last few months has made me realise that this type of hands-off approach borders on apathy, and that I owe it to my children to do more.
Having lived in the area for a couple of years now, and having seen in this very paper what the DA councillors on the Berea get up to, I will this year not only vote DA, but I will also volunteer my time on voting day to assist the DA at the voting stations. I ask my fellow Bereans to do the same. Don’t just just vote, get involved. Let us save South Africa.
