Be vigilant at home, says SAPS

The police have noted a rise in burglaries at businesses and residences.

SAPS is urging residents to be safety conscious in their homes and not to leave their houses unsecured by not locking doors, security gates or windows.

Capt Muzi Maphumulo from eThekwini Central Communications said the police had noted a rise in burglaries at businesses and residences.

“The police are patrolling areas and also arresting the perpetrators in some reported cases. Our request is to have our community on board to play their part in securing their homes and properties. The community should also take part in their area community safety committees, neighbourhood watches or community police forum,” he said.
