Reward for information in Cato Crest murder cases

Cato Manor SAPS is appealing for assistance regarding cases of murder in the area.

THE Cato Manor SAPS jurisdictional area has been hit with a rise in murder cases which remain unresolved due to a lack of information.

Captain Muzi Maphumulo from eThekwini Central Communications said SAPS was now seeking assistance from the public in order to bring the perpetrators of crime to book.

He said a number of murder cases which occurred in the Cato Crest area between January 2018 and February 2019, where the victims were either attacked on the street or in their houses are being investigated.

“In one case of murder in November 2018 in the Wiggins area, three boys who were playing snooker were attacked by three unknown suspects who shot them. One of the victims died at the scene. In a second case in September 2018 two people were found murdered inside their room at Cato Crest, while the third victim was found dead on the foot path near the same house. They had all been shot and suffered multiple gunshot wounds,” he said, adding that it had been noted that the common instrument used in the murders are firearms.
