Indian-American pianist for Friends recital

The Indian-American pianist made her orchestral debut at the age of 10.

FRIENDS of Music presents the unique artistry and charismatic stage presence of pianist, Pallavi Mahidhara on Tuesday, 26 February at Durban Jewish Centre, KE Masinga (Old Fort) Road, Durban at 7.30pm.

The Indian-American pianist made her orchestral debut at the age of 10, performing at the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. She has appeared in solo and orchestral concerts across five continents. Pallavi’s music interests cover an extensive range, from standard Classical works, to music of contemporary and living composers, to fusion and crossover projects.

Her programme includes Claude Debussy’s Deux Arabesques and Suite Bergamasque, Cecile Chaminade’s Arabesque No. 1, Op. 61, Arabesque No. 2, Op. 92, Clara Schumann’s Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann, Op. 20 and Johannes Brahms’ Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Händel, Op. 24.

Tickets are R100 for members, R120 for visitors, and R30 for students. Book through Computicket.
