UPDATE: Multiple injured as taxi crashes into tree

RESCUE Caare paramedics are currently at the scene of a crash in Bidston Road where a taxi has crashed into a tree.

Garrith Jamieson said multiple people had been injured and two people were trapped in the wreckage. The road has been closed while emergency personnel tend to the injured.

THE latest update from the scene is that 17 people suffering minor to serious injuries have been tended to by paramedics at the scene of a taxi crash in Bidston Road.  The driver has been freed from the wreckage and the road is open to traffic.
