Cutting down trees in cemetery is a problem

At least 50 trees have been cut down in Stellawood Cemetery.

EDITOR – Recently, those living near Stellawood Cemetery will have been aware of the sound of tree cutting. This has been due to trees being cut down in the cemetery, and those with an interest in and knowledge about trees are requested to please see what is happening.

Do they plan to replace them, as it has a considerable bird population that obviously need the trees? Cutting on a Sunday is not only noisy but also entails paying double time, is that also necessary?

One hopes there is a plan, but based on my experience with tree cutting in Umbilo Park, I doubt it. At a rough guess, at least 50 trees have been cut down, and at this rate, its viability as a bird haven could become a problem.
