Entries open for Ironman Durban triathlon

The triathlon course will be set along Durban’s Golden Mile.

ENTRIES are open for the 2019 Standard Bank Ironman 70.3 Durban triathlon.The popular event features a 1.9km ocean swim, 90.1km bike and 21.1km run and takes place on Sunday 2 June 2019 at Suncoast, Durban.

Since the introduction of the event to Durban in 2015, it has become the race of choice for athletes looking to try their first triathlon and has attracted household names the likes of, John Smit, John Slade, Stefan Terblanche, Andre Nel and Caroline Wostmann to the sport.

The 2018 event saw almost 3 000 athletes take part of which 34% were first-time athletes.

“The Standard Bank Ironman 70.3 Durban is the perfect venue for first timers and those age groupers looking to set personal records, it is a flat honest course,” said Keith Bowler, Managing Director: Ironman South Africa.
