Win tickets to Diamond tribute

Paying respect to the music of the legendary artist, composer and performer, Neil Diamond, are Durban’s own tribute band The Reals.

RHUMBELOW Theatre, 42 Cunningham Road, Umbilo, presents Hot August Night, The Music Of Neil Diamond, from Friday, 5 to Sunday, 7 October, Friday, 12 to Sunday, 14 October and Friday, 19 to Sunday, 21 October.

Composer, singer, musician and actor, Neil Diamond has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. In 2018, Diamond received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Paying respect to the music of this legendary artist is Durban’s own tribute band The Reals, with Barry Thomson on guitar and vocals, musical director Dawn Selby on keyboards and vocals, Mali Sewell on drums and vocals and Jason Andrew on bass guitar and vocals. Included in the repertoire are Diamond’s hit songs Cracklin’ Rosie, Song Sung Blue, Longfellow Serenade, Desiree, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, America, Heartlight, Sweet Caroline and I’m A Believer.

The shows on Friday and Saturday will be at 8pm, with the show at 2pm on Sunday.

Take food picnic baskets. The venue opens 90 minutes before the show. Braais will be available should you wish to cook some meat. Tickets are R150 with R130 concessions. Booking is essential through Computicket or contact Roland on 082 499 8636, roland@stansell.co.za or info@durbantheatre.com.
