EDITOR – Referring to the article headed “Pensioners warn of conmen posing as city employees” in the Berea Mail of 14 September. I am embarrassed to admit that I was also caught by these fraudsters, with the same modus operandi, to the tune of R1850. As a pensioner, this hurt!
The police do not have the manpower or time to investigate old people’s faux pas, but I feel strongly that this type of crime should be stopped. I offer a reward to anyone who is able to have these fraudsters apprehended and put behind bars.
Hoping someone will be able to do so.
