WATCH: Zuma addresses supporters after court releases him on a warning

Jacob Zuma will appear in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on 27 July.

FORMER President Jacob Zuma appeared in the Durban High Court this morning on charges of corruption.

The case was adjourned to 27 July, 2018 at Pietermaritzburg because it offered more accommodation than the Durban High Court. In this morning’s appearance, the NPA and Mr Zuma’s lawyer asked for a postponement. In the case of the NPA, it said it required time to study arms company Thales’ representation to withdraw the case.  Deputy Judge President Njabuliseni Madondo instructed Mr Zuma to return to court on 27 July and released him on a warning.

Zuma addressed a crowd of supporters after his court appearance sending a strong message to those accusing him of being corrupt. Zuma warned his accusers that he had information on them that would expose them for who they are. “I am tired of people tarnishing my name, I am warning them,” he said.
