Peace Train founders perform at Crusaders

Bringing their Afro-Jazz sound to Crusaders on Sunday, 25 February are Grammy-nominee Sharon Katz and long-time collaborator Nonhlanhla Wanda.

GRAMMY-NOMINEE Sharon Katz and long-time collaborator Nonhlanhla Wanda will launch their brand new Afro-Jazz CD Side-By-Side at this week’s edition of the Soul Sunday Sessions at Northwood Crusaders Sports Club on 25 February.

The original founders of ‘The Peace Train’, a project that saw them forming South Africa’s first 500-voice multiracial youth choir in KwaZulu-Natal in 1993, Katz and Wanda’s goal was to use music to promote the country’s first, fully inclusive elections and a peaceful transition to democracy.

Travelling around the country, joined by their friends Ladysmith Black Mambazo, they helped change hearts and minds to prepare communities to live together, and have since also toured extensively across America spreading their humanitarian message.
