Be aware of scams

The community must ensure that when they arrange a meeting to buy or sell goods that it is not conducted in isolated places.

DURBAN Central SAPS has noted an increase in theft and robberies in the Point precinct due to advertising of cellular phones and laptops on social media such as OLX and Gumtree.

Const Zanele Khomo from Durban Central said the community must ensure that when they arrange a meeting to buy or sell goods that it is not conducted in isolated places.

“There are numerous cases being reported to Point SAPS due to these scams where individuals are lured into the area on the pretext of buying or selling items, and are then robbed of these items. Please be aware,” she said.
