Church treats children to party

THE Helpdesk Team from St Michael’s Lutheran Church in the Point area hosted a party for the children at Durban Child and Youth Care Centre in Glenwood on Saturday.

The children loved their party, where they enjoyed activities such as dance offs, singing and musical chairs. A dance couple from Durban, Melokuhle Blose and Ilke Elferink, who were in Shall We Dance this year, did a Latin demo for the children, and Thabo Bhengu, a 2017 matriculant from Durban High School, was DJ for the day.

The Helpdesk Team at the church helps the needy with groceries and money. They do visits not only to children but also to the elderly. The group run soup kitchens and host flea markets, doing what they can to help those in need in any way possible.
