Donate to Tafta’s charity shop

Give a little this Spring and donate to Tafta’s charity shop.

WITH Spring almost upon us, Tafta (The Association for the Aged) is reaching out for support from the community for generous donations of unused quality goods for its charity shop.

Granny’s Attic, located in Durban’s CBD – stocks a miscellany of pre-loved, bargain-priced goods including ornaments, trinkets, linen, furniture and clothing. The proceeds generated from the sale of goods at Granny’s Attic is injected back to Tafta in order to sustain the organisation’s efforts in providing quality care to the elderly.

“We are proud to have a retail presence in the form of a charity shop which enables us to receive community support. However to keep our shop full and entice new customers, we are always appealing for donations,” said Gail Samuels, Tafta’s marketing, income development and public relations, manager.

In addition, donations to the Granny’s Attic charity shop go further in assisting Tafta in its outreach programmes and funding needy pensioners. These include meal delivery services, assisting with their basic needs including personal hygiene and grooming as well as nursing assessments and other medical care procedures.

Tafta can arrange to collect items during the week, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 3pm. For weekend collections, prior arrangements would need to be made with Tafta’s donations controller, Fatima Nzama on 031 332 3721 or email pr@tafta.org.za.
