Clean World Movement for Durban

Members of the International WeLoveU Foundation South Africa Durban cleaned up roads in Glenwood.

IN commemoration of Clean Day on 22 May worldwide, the International WeLoveU Foundation carried out the Clean World Movement in several countries.

Every year, Clean World Movement members get together to clean cities, parks, mountains, the sea and rivers in countries throughout the world.

On Sunday, 21 May, members of International WeLoveU Foundation South Africa gathered in Che Guevara (Moore) and Hunt Roads in Glenwood to clean the streets.

EThekwini Municipality welcomed the members, and provided them with cleaning materials. Workers and university students collected 200kg of garbage during two hour clean-up.

Councillor Mmabatho Tembe thanked the members for making the Durban community better and the environment cleaner.

WeLoveU member, Samukelisiwe Zungu said: “We got together to protect and clean the environment as it is so important. A clean environment produces a clean heart and mind which makes our lives healthier. We hope the Clean World Movement will contribute positively in making the global village clean and habitable.”
