Become ‘sole mates’ with your favourite radio presenters

The East Coast Radio presenters are all looking forward to the fun-filled day on Durban’s promenade.

THE Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk is the ultimate opportunity to meet and get to know your favourite radio presenters, as they cheer runners and walkers on during one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most loved family days out on Saturday, 21 May.

The personalities will be at the start of the event at uShaka Marine World and then dotted along the route all the way to the finish at Moses Mabhida People’s Park. They’ll be at activation stations keeping the thousands of participants motivated and upbeat.

The East Coast Radio presenters are all looking forward to the fun-filled day on Durban’s promenade. Jane Linley-Thomas said: “The big walk is such a joyous occasion. The vibe and togetherness brings a tear to my eye year after year. I love how regardless of anything people unify against the magnificent KZN backdrop and show such love and comradery for complete strangers and celebrate health, love and family.”

Darren Maule quips: “This has got to be my favourite initiative of the year; tens of thousands of East Coasters just come out and everyone enjoys everyone else’s company. If you want to see the true nature of real people and not the bad news stories we are bombarded with everyday, come join us at the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk.”

For some East Coast Radio presenters, like Drive host Phat Joe, it’ll be their first experience of the Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk, “It’s gonna be my first Big Walk ever, and I look forward to crawling the 2.5km with all the toddlers, oh wait you mean there’s no 2.5km?”
