Snoopy comes to life on stage

Snoopy! is a delightful musical that has charm for all ages.

DURBAN Girls’ College will stage the production Snoopy! at the Centenary Hall from 28 to 30 March at 7pm.

Snoopy! is a delightful musical that has charm for all ages. The songs are appealing and catchy, and many have a great deal to say to the audience about life and growing up.

Part of the appeal is that the humour is universal and timeless. The musical is in fact structured in a comic strip style with vignettes of dialogue mixed with songs and music. The characters are larger-than-life and yet maintain their humanity, even Snoopy who, although a dog, has human insight and responses.

The characters question the meaning and absurdity of life – sometimes life can be difficult, trying and cruel but it can also be filled with hope and the need to fulfil our dreams.

Tickets are R50 and can be booked by emailing Mrs Jacci Lewis at jlewis@dgc.co.za or phoning 031 268 7239.

Caption: Kaela Simpson plays Lucy, Wangui Ngotho plays Charlie Brown and Ruth Thumbi plays Snoopy.
