Three out of three for Quins

Umbilo Harlequins Cricket Club's teams won all their matches at the weekend.

THREE of Umbilo Harlequins Cricket Club’s teams were engaged in league match encounters on 11 and 12 March.

Quins’ 6th team played their final 30 over division five game of the current season against Simplex RHCSC from Reservoir Hills. Quins made 200 runs for the loss of 9 wickets (Chase Garner scored 45 runs, Jason Rouse made 29 runs, Dylan Jenkins made 28 runs and Darryl Lavender made 24 runs). Simplex RHCSC 6 were never really in contention due to the loss of wickets in regular succession reaching 121 runs all out after 26.5 overs. Gavin Hazell claimed 2/30 and Dylan Jenkins made 2/27.

Quins 6 won by 79 runs.

Quins’ 2nd team played DHS Rhythm on Sunday. Quins 2 accrued 147 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs (Sheldon Spindler made 45 runs, Mark Kritzinger made 25 runs and Theuns Jacobs made 21 runs, John Piek 5/17, Theuns Jacobs took 3/6). Quins 2 won the encounter.

Quins’ 4ths played INK 4 Ntuzuma. Quins 4 made 119 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 30 overs (Traineach Owen made 25 runs, Justin Coskey made 27 runs, Mark Len Ferna De la Mote took 3/10, Eric Cavanagh took 2/24, Webster Geekie took 2/15).

INK were dismissed for 91 runs in 25.5 overs. Quins 4 won by 28 runs.

The club’s annual awards event will be at Harlequins Sports Club off Garcin Place on Friday, 17 March from 6.30pm.

A triangular event will be on Saturday, 1 April 2017 at Quins.
