R250 000 reward offered for #HelpFindDurbanBaby

Police have vowed to scour all sectors of the city in their search to find missing baby Siwaphiwe Mbambo .

A reward of up to R250 000 for information leading to the whereabouts of abducted Durban baby Siwaphiwe Mbambo is currently being offered by police.
According to SAPS, the reward is being offered to any person with information that will lead to the recovery of the one-month-old baby and the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
The latest reports reveal that more than 100 police officers, community members and other roleplayers have been deployed to search for the missing baby.

The scene at Cator Manor sportsgrounds this morning as the search continues for baby Mbambo.

In a statement on Saturday morning‚ SAPS said: “A reward of up to R250 000 is offered to anyone who may provide with information that will lead to the recovery of the baby and the arrest and conviction of the suspects. More than 100 police officers‚ assisted by community and other roleplayers‚ are deployed now to search for the baby.”

SAPS spokesman Lt Col Thulani Zwane has vowed that police will not stop searching until the baby is found and are prepared to scour all areas of eThekwini in their quest to find the child.

“The search will continue. The baby is still missing. We will look all over the greater Durban area because we don’t know where the baby was taken or dropped off‚” he said.

Rescue Care paramedics’ have also joined the search teams and currently the Cato Manor sportsground has been set up as a base for the search operations.”

Allegations that the target of the hijacking was the baby have not been confirmed.  Zwane said police would have to find the baby before determining whether the allegations were true.
