Two seriously injured in Durban collision

Two men had to be extracted from their vehicles with the Jaws of Life.

TWO men sustained serious injuries after two vehicles collided in the early hours of this morning, 27 February, at the intersection of Masabalala Yengwa (NMR) Avenue and Sandile Thusi (Argyle) Road.

Ceron Lennox, of Rescue Care, said paramedics responded to the call shortly after midnight.

“On arrival paramedics found the two badly damaged vehicles in the roadway. Two men were severely trapped in the wreckage and the Durban Fire Department was called to assist with the Jaws of Life,” said Lennox.

Advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise the injured in the wreckage while rescue teams cut them out. Once freed, both men were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

 

 

“At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further,” said Lennox.
