Four wins for Quins teams

Umbilo Harlequins Cricket Club's first team narrowly beat Dawn Heights in a Challenge League match on Sunday.

UMBILO Harlequins Cricket Club’s teams played six league matches at the weekend, winning four and losing two.

The first team took on Dawn Heights in a 50 over stream one challenge league encounter at the Stanger Country Club. The match was reduced to 35 overs a side due to a delay in commencement as a result of a wet pitch. Dawn Heights were dismissed for 104 runs in 28 overs. Medium paced seam bowler Willem Fourie captured two wickets for 15 runs and Safi Patel took three wickets for 10 runs.

In response, opening batsman Faisal Barakzai top scored for Quins with 18 runs and Trevor Campbell managed 13 runs. In the second consecutive tight match, Quins managed to eke out a very narrow away victory, by just one wicket in passing the oppositions tally by one run in the 29th over.
