Comment on the annual report

ETHEKWINI Municipality has released its draft Annual Report for the 2015/16 financial year for public comment and will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the report on Friday, 17 February at Luthuli Hall, City Hall at 10am.

All interested parties are invited to attend this meeting and provide their input into the draft Annual Report which is a record of what eThekwini Municipality has achieved in the last financial year.

The report indicates that the City has performed well over the last financial year and is in a strong financial position underpinned by the outstanding collection rate (101 per cent), growth in revenue, moderate gearing, stable debt and strong liquidity. The City has also managed to maintain its investment grade credit rating in the short term with a positive outlook, which is the highest rating in the municipal sector.

The annual report is available on the City’s website, www.durban.gov.za at Sizakala Centres and libraries. The public are invited to comment before 3 March. Comments can be emailed to orisha.goorbhare@durban.gov.za.
