Lectures suspended at DUT

Suspended academic programme follows the serious challenges faced by many students who still require accommodation.

THE academic programme at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) has been suspended for Thursday, 9 and Friday, 10 February.

According to Alan Khan, senior director of corporate affairs at DUT, management decided to suspend all lectures, laboratory and practical sessions, tutorials and assessments, after discussions with the SRC. He said this follows the serious challenges faced by many students who still require accommodation.

The University otherwise remains open for business and the extended registration will still continue this week, with lectures, laboratory and practical sessions, tutorials and assessments resuming on Monday, 13 February.

“DUT apologises to all students, parents and staff for any inconvenience that this decision may cause but we feel that suspending the academic programme for two days will be in the best interests of the entire university community,” said Khan.
