Nine schoolchildren injured in Bulwer Road collision

Traffic was delayed in Glenwood this morning when a school transport mini bus collided with another vehicle on Bulwer Road.

NINE people were injured after a school transport vehicle collided with another vehicle at the busy intersection of Bulwer and Davenport Roads in Glenwood around 7am today.

Ceron Lennox, an advanced life support paramedic for Rescue Care said paramedics arrived to find that the school children who were all aged between six months and 13-years-old, had and sustained minor to moderate injuries. One man had sustained serious injuries and was treated by Rescue Care’s advanced life support paramedic. Other ambulances also arrived at the scene and all the patients were stabilised before they were taken to nearby hospitals,” she explained.

Lennox told Berea Mail she was unsure of the cause of the collision, however SAPS were on scene and will investigate further.
