Club athletes excel at meet
Local athletes were part of the KZN invitation team that competed at the Clover Invitation meet in Bloemfontein.
THREE CKS Athletics Club athletes were part of the KZN invitation team that competed at the Clover Invitation meet in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Zandri Meyer came 5th and 7th respectively in the discus and shot put with 29.76m and 10.65m, Wilhelm van Deventer ran his season’s best times in the 400m and 110m hurdles events finishing 3rd and 5th respectively in times of 58.54sec and 15.71sec.
Jan-Frederick van Zyl produced one of the best performances of the competition in the javelin, again beating his ASA and SASA challenges from earlier in the year, with a winning throw of 67.00m.
Zandri, Wilhelm and Jan-Frederick are joined by fellow club members, Marilize Goosen (200m and relays) and Wynand Conradie (discus and hammer throw)
this coming weekend, Friday 21 and Saturday 22 October, as they compete at the PUKKE Top 30 schools’ meet.
