Where were Metro Police?

A resident of Hillier Road says the municipality have not addressed the problem of heavy trucks parking illegally in the road.

EDITOR – I am responding to the head of eThekwini communications, regarding the statement made that Metro Police were last in this area, Umbilo, on 8 September.

I would like to call out to the head of eThekwini communications to advise when and where Metro Police were here? According to my knowledge, there were no acts of justice done on the above-mentioned date. The last recorded time that Metro Police were in this area, was in the early months of 2015.

Truck drivers in possession of code 14 with PDP licenses, are aware that it is illegal to drive trucks more than 10 tons in a residential area. I urge residents in the area to request a reference number when calling the emergency number, 031 361 0000, to report trucks parking or driving illegally in a 10 ton plus restricted area. If Metro Police do not assist, I would like to request that the councillor please implement the establishing of 10 ton plus restriction boards at the relevant intersections.

This will alleviate the issue of having the municiplaity to constantly have repairs done on the drains that are damaged by trucks, as well as increase the safety within the area.
