Two escape weekend crash and fire

Two men were lucky to have escaped with minor injuries when their car burst into flames after a crash early on Sunday morning.

TWO men had a lucky escape with minor injuries after a horror collision were their vehicle caught alight Greyville in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, the vehicle the men were travelling in was involved in a collision before it burst into flames.

“Our paramedics responded to the accident on First Avenue, just after midnight on Sunday morning. On arrival they found that two vehicles had collided before one burst into flames,

fortunately the two occupants managed to escape with minor injuries. The fire was extinguished by Durban Fire Department. Both men were treated and taken to a nearby hospital. One occupant from the second car had also sustained moderate injuries and was also transported by an ambulance to a nearby hospital,” Jamieson added.

At this stage the cause of the collision is unknown, however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
