Botanist, Dr Hugh Glen will explore the plants that give flavour to breyani.

THE Botanical Society of South Africa KZN Coastal Branch presents Dinner! The botany of a plate of breyani, an illustrated talk by Dr Hugh Glen on Monday, 20 June at Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre, at 6pm.

If you have ever considered the plants that give flavour to the food we eat, especially in Durban, go along and explore the live plants that stand behind that plate of deliciousness, a plate of breyani. Botanist Dr Hugh Glen will give an illustrated presentation before a two-course meal (breyani and sooji) is served.

This is a fundraiser for Botanical Education Trust, all are welcome.

Booking and pre-payment essential by 15 June at R190 for members of BotSoc and the Friends of Durban Botanic Gardens and R220 for visitors.

Choose between chicken breyani or vegetable breyani when booking. Price includes drinks, sooji dessert and tea and coffee.
