The Shelley Altshuler Memorial Prize is annually awarded to a learner or a member of the public who has promoted contact between learners and learners from other schools or the public. This year it was awarded to Siyanda Khanyile.

In sports, the Neil De Villiers Trophy, donated by Mr and Mrs Chamier in memory of Neil de Villiers, for the most Outstanding Sportsman of the Year was awarded to Musawenkosi Dlamini; the Wareing Trophy for the most Outstanding Sportswoman of the Year, was awarded to a young lady who was selected to represent South Africa for wheelchair basketball, Zenande Mabanti. The Sweidan Trophy for the Disabled Sportsman of the Year went to Ranetsi Manyoni and the Erika Van Niekerk Trophy for the Disabled Sportswoman of the Year went to Duduzile Mceleni, who excelled in wheelchair basketball this year. The main prize of the day, the Cedric Hilson Honour prize, went to Ranetsi Manyoni.

This prize was founded by Mr Herbert Bishop, assisted by other friends of Mr and Mrs Hilson, in memory of their son, who was a learner at the OAS from 1940 until his death at the age of 13 in 1945. Although debarred by delicate health from the usual childhood activities, Cedric, with great determination and fortitude, led a full and useful life. It is awarded to a learner who displays the qualities which resemble Cedric himself.
