Once again GFWS is working with Durban Tourism to promote the city and all the wonderful attractions it has to offer on the food front.

Phillip Sithole, head of Durban Tourism said, “The Good Food and Wine Show has undoubtedly proven to be a vibrant platform to showcase Durban’s unique and multi-cultural cuisine to an array of globally recognised chefs and food television networks. The City will again host a Township Cook-off with the celebrated chefs and our locals, sharing local flavours, authentic cuisine and imparting inspiring cooking techniques to our locals in a true township style restaurant.”

In addition to the local and international chefs and a bigger-than-ever array of exhibitors, this year's show will include a stunning line-up of top attractions. Topping the line up is the Baking Theatre: Baking has made a major comeback around the world and is one of the hottest food trends currently. The Baking Theatre is one of the Show’s most popular attractions were one can see demonstrations on the latest in baking tips and trends. The Celebrity Chefs Theatre is another popular attraction where local and international chefs come together to cook up a storm, flaunt their culinary expertise and demonstrate why they are such superstars in the kitchen. New to the Show is the Slow Food Theatre showcasing the global movement. As important as the food itself is the opportunity for small producers to access a public platform to promote their fare to a wider audience. Family farming and artisanal food stuffs are crucial to job creation, sustainability and food security.
