New life breathed into Sunfoil Dolphions and KZN Cricket

The Sunfoil Dolphins received a fresh and bold new look and logo ahead of the upcomming domestic cricket season.

THE Sunfoil Dolphins head into the 2015/16 South African domestic cricket season with fresh energy and a positive outlook after an extravagant reveal at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead last Thursday, saw them welcome a new, contemporary brand identity for the first time in a decade.

Besides changing sponsors, the franchise’s logo has remained unchanged for 15 years. Pete de Wet, CEO for Sunfoil Dolphins is excited by what the new identity represents. “We have a new face of the Sunfoil Dolphins; one that is modern, exciting and dynamic because that’s how we view the future of our team!”

De Wit said fans can expect thrilling times ahead for cricket in KwaZulu-Natal. “We decided to breathe new life into the Dolphins brand with a revitalised identity that reflects the positivity and energy that is currently at the heart of cricket in our province,” he added.

Since cricket is a competitive sport where aggression, passion, team unity, gritty determination and confidence are often as important in achieving success as skill or individual brilliance, De Wet said, it was felt that a reboot of the somewhat ‘friendly’ Dolphins identity was the best way to re-energise the brand.”

“We are untamed, we don’t surrender and we always rise together. We believe our new identity now reflects that!” he added.

The refreshed Sunfoil Dolphins brand goes hand in glove with the revamp of their home stadium. A new stadium entrance, state of the art perimeter fencing, freshly re-laid parking lot, hotel-standard toilets in the West Stand and a refurbished members’ dining room, together with new-look stadium signage, complete phase one of the stadium’s makeover.
