Manor Gardens does it again

Manor Gardens maths whizzes achieved the top school award.

MANOR Gardens Primary School mathletes have done it again, winning first position and the overall Top School Achiever Award in the 2015 Horizon Maths Competition.

This was achieved by having the most number of qualifiers in the highest positions. There were 29 Manor Gardens’ pupils in the top 200 in the second round of the competition, with seven pupils placed in the top 10.

For the first time in the history of the competition in KwaZulu-Natal, there was a tie in first place – Lloyd Geddie (Grade 7) and Te'jal Rajoo (Grade 7V) both from Manor Gardens.

This national competition, sponsored by the Horizon Education Trust, is held annually in Durban, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Cape Town. In KwaZulu-Natal this year, 5 357 pupils from 50 schools entered the first round, while 1 100 pupils from 39 schools participated in the second round.
