Baby sustains critical injuries in taxi collision

A baby suffered serious injuries after the taxi she was travelling in collided with a vehicle, injuring seven other commuters.

A ten-month-old baby was critically injured after the taxi she was in collided with another vehicle at the corner of Stanger Street and Argyle Road just after 8pm on Saturday night.

Rescue Care paramedics attended the scene and found a taxi and a car had collided in the intersection. Eight people were injured with the baby sustaining critical injuries. An Advanced Life Support Paramedic placed the little baby on a manual ventilator before rushing her through to a nearby hospital. The other seven patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries and were also transported to a hospital.
