Netball challenge travels across SA

The first tournament in the challenge takes place on Saturday, July 29 at Hoërskool Richardsbaai and the fourth regional heads to Westville Girls’ High School where they will welcome teams for the Durban Central Regional.

AMID the excitement of South Africa hosting the upcoming Netball World Cup this month, SPAR will host the third edition of the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast-5s Netball Challenge, which heads to seven regions around KwaZulu-Natal, arriving in Durban in September.

The challenge will begin with the first tournament, the North Coast Regional, which takes place on Saturday, July 29 at Hoërskool Richardsbaai.

Two tournaments will take place in Women’s Month – the first, the South Coast Regional, being hosted by Kingsway High School on Saturday, August 12, followed by the Kokstad Regional at Kokstad College two weeks later, on Saturday, August 26.

The fourth regional heads to Westville Girls’ High School where they will welcome teams for the Durban Central Regional on Saturday, September 2. Heading north, the tournament moves to Pionier Hoërskool, where teams will participate in the Northern KZN Regional on Saturday, September 16.

The final two regions take place closer to Durban, with the Midlands Regional getting underway at Voortrekker Hoërskool on Saturday, October 14, and finally, the Durban Coastal Regional which is being held at Danville Park Girls’ High School on Saturday, October 21.

In previous years (2019 and 2021), the challenge has been a great success, making it a highlight on the school sports calendar. All games will be live-streamed on the SuperSport Schools’ website or mobile app.
