Glenwood and Umbilo areas given the all-clear after last night’s rain

Roving teams are removing obstructions on roads and clearing fallen trees and other debris.

WHILE KwaZulu-Natal was hit by the heavy rains last night, leading to flooding in some areas, there was little impact in the Glenwood and Umbilo areas.

Ward 33 councillor Sakhile Mngadi reported that it was ‘all clear’ in Glenwood and Umbilo.

Glenwood resident Bruce Soutar echoed these views, saying, “We escaped with little damage.”

However, Soutar advised motorists to approach the intersection of Mazisi Kunene and Marist roads with caution as there is a large ditch on the side of the road.

Berea Mail noted debris on roads in the Musgrave area, where sand had washed onto the road or tree branches had fallen.
