World Hypertension Day – three apps to track blood pressure

Hypertension refers to high blood pressure – which is important to monitor.

WORLD Hypertension Day on May 17 highlights the importance of monitoring your blood pressure.

According to the World Hypertension League (WHL) website, the 2023 theme is Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is linked to heart disease, so keeping tabs on one’s blood pressure is important.

On their website, WHL shares resources, including a guideline for checking the accuracy of BP monitors in 16 languages, including English and Afrikaans.

In line with this theme, we found three free smartphone apps designed to help users monitor their blood pressure. While there is no substitute for a professional medical opinion, these apps can be useful tools to help reach health goals.
