SAPS seek relatives of deceased men found on Durban roads

The body of a man, believed to be in his forties, was found dead on a pavement on Denis Hurley Street.

DURBAN Central Police are appealing to members of the community for assistance in solving two inquest cases.

According to SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, bodies were found in central Durban in two incidents.

The body of a man, believed to be in his forties, was found dead on a pavement on Denis Hurley Street (Queen Street) on July 1.

“The deceased was known as Emmanuel, according to homeless people living in the area. He was found wearing blue pants and a blue shirt and had no visible injuries,” said Gwala.

On August 17, the body of a man in his early thirties was found on the corner of Ismail C Meer Street.
“The body had no visible injuries and was certified dead by paramedics. The man was known as Darren according to the homeless people living in the area,” said Gwala.
