Glenwood UIP says residents must stay vigilant

The Glenwood Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) says there has been a recent spike in burglaries.

THE Glenwood Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) is urging residents to stay on the lookout for burglars due to a robbery spike in the area.

Vernon Stokes, the Glenwood UIP director said they responded to two separate burglary incidents this week.

“Our tactical response vehicle responded recently to a call from one of our ambassadors in Brand Road, reporting that he had observed suspicious activity at a home in Cohen Road. Our tactical response officer proceeded to the scene and apprehended the burglar inside the house. SAPS were summoned to take over the scene,” said Stokes.

Stokes and the Glenwood UIP want residents to note that there have been a number of ‘smash n grab’ cases around the business hubs in the precinct.
