WATCH: Fire breaks out in Durban CBD

Firefighters rushed to extinguish the blaze.

A FIRE broke out in the Durban CBD on Thursday, February 10 at about 18:00. Videos circulating on social media show a building well alight.

In one video it was reported that the fire broke out on Queen Street.

Smoke from the blaze was seen billowing into the sky from Musgrave.

Andreas Mathios of Marshall Security said the scene was still active at about 19.30.

“eThekwini firefighters are currently on the scene in the Durban CBD where a fire has broken out. At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown. Metro police and  other first responders are currently on the scene,” he said.
